Celebrate a delicious summer

July 2019 Newsletter

July! The summer is officially here and everything is moving along smoothly. The flower bouquets are coming in, bursting with unique seasonal color and our produce is following suit. Thanks to your farmers at Red Fire Farm and other local farms, all of your summer staples—snap peas, summer squashes, broccoli and even tomatoes—are rolling in, fresh and delicious. We want to take the time to say thank you for supporting local business and local farmers. When we take care of each other and the land, our communities grow stronger and healthier. Even when organic produce can seem a little more expensive, that money is directly supporting folks in your community while keeping the soil and water clean. Thanks everybody.

We’re chipping away, developing our lunch bar more and more each day with fun seasonal recipes. Carly, Caroline and Paul are working hard in the kitchen to craft all sorts of fresh fun foods for your convenience while Noah, Hannah and Annie keep the groceries and produce spiffy and plentiful. Falafel collard wraps with peanut sauce, summer vegetable soups, empanadas and enchiladas wrapped in local, organic corn tortillas… it just keeps getting better. That goes for our grocery section as well. We are looking forward to redeveloping our shelving and store layout to make the most space in our little shop and keep the staples stocked for the best little shop experience you can get.

Red Fire North is now hosting a bread share through Red Fire Farm’s CSA options. We offer two loaves of bread, a sesame wheat sandwich style loaf and a particularly unique loaf using farm ingredients. Our bread is hearth baked and uses organic whole wheat flour & organic specialty flours from Trumansburg NY. It is baked fresh daily and guaranteed in your weekly farm share. Check out the farm’s website for more details or come by the store to see what we might be offering.

Our end of season plant sale is still on where all bedding plants are 50% off. Though your gardens are probably blossoming and lucious, we have a few extra flowers, herbs & veggie starters just in casde! Organic compost and fertilizer mixes are also available.
